You play 10 stages across four acts, from Caves to Beyond the Veil. Caves → Town → Sewers → Hedge Maze → Castle Dungeon → Castle → Forest → Shav'Wani Bridge → Shav'Wani Fortress → Desert → Beyond the Veil. This regional route lists transitions and the finale separately from the stage count. Your room layouts, enemy positions, and loot locations can change between runs.
What is the SULFUR map order, and how do you clear each area?
You follow the regions below in order, using their exits and boss victories to advance.
Cousin waits at the end of the Caves, your first region.
Shown at 04:28 in The Homie Dot’s video.| Region | Boss or final encounter | How to progress, useful loot, and hazards |
|---|---|---|
| Caves — seven floors | Armored goblin on Floor 5; Cousin on Floor 7 | Charge your amulet on Floor 4. Break the miniboss's armor, jump its shockwaves, and finish each smaller goblin separately. Shoot through Cousin's mud armor and clear summoned goblins. Take the elevator back to the Church, then enter Town. Cracked walls can hide storage rooms; see the SULFUR toilet room. |
| Town — five floors | Three masked railgun enemies on Floor 5 | Your altar is on Floor 3. Search streets, houses, and rooftops for the next gate. Breaking many enemies' masks stuns them and turns nearby enemies against them. Use arena blocks as cover, attack during reloads, and finish one railgun enemy at a time. Defeating all three opens Sewers. |
| Sewers — four floors | No major boss | Your altar is on Floor 3. Watch for poisonous frogs hiding underwater and tougher enemies covered in black sulfur. Search underwater breakables when safe. Follow yellow-lit openings; the fourth floor leads to Hedge Maze. |
| Hedge Maze — no separate floors | No traditional boss encounter | You navigate toward the distant castle. Shoot the eyes on sulfur creatures until they collapse. Use a grenade or explosive ammunition while they are down to prevent recovery. Continue toward the Castle Dungeon entrance. |
| Castle Dungeon — four floors | Executioner-like miniboss on the final floor | Your altar is on Floor 3. Look upward for wooden platforms when a route seems blocked. Sulf Air shoes help with jumping. An early drawer upgrades Church storage but occupies substantial inventory space. Prioritize assassins. Break the miniboss's cone, shoot its exposed orb, then retreat before it explodes. Continue into Castle. |
| Castle — four floors | Saint Lucia on the final floor | Your altar is on Floor 3. Climb bookshelves and follow connected rooms toward golden gates. Shoot mines from safety; attack laser enemies after their firing sequence. Dining-table food restores health. Against Lucia, clear assassins and shoot the central projectiles during darkness before they activate. Her defeat opens Forest. |
| Forest — five floors | Terrorbaum | Your altar is on Floor 4. Follow roads toward golden gates; backtrack to the last fork after dead ends. Collect healing mushrooms. Wait out crows' raised-wing defense. Shoot Terrorbaum's eyes, clear summoned crows, jump shockwaves, and leave marked impact areas. Its defeat opens Shav'Wani Bridge. |
| Shav'Wani Bridge — no separate floors | Enemy encounters along the bridge | You follow the bridge toward the fortress. Conserve ammunition for the lengthy dungeon and two-stage boss ahead. |
| Shav'Wani Fortress — six floors | His Most Holy Emperor | Your altar is on Floor 3. The route descends into caverns there and resurfaces near Floor 5. Attack cloaked crossbow enemies when their golden medallions appear. Bring ammunition and a weapon repair item. Shoot the Emperor's final segment and jump shockwaves. Heal before dropping into phase two; circle backward around the mechanical spider. Exit and jump from the cliff into Desert. |
| Desert — five floors | Desert Santa | Your altar is on Floor 3. Follow roads to golden gates. Wait out spinning Hellshrew attacks and expose snipers disguised as plants. Cook two cactus pieces for stronger healing. Optional crypts require a Crypt Key. Against Santa, avoid marked rocket strikes, stay inside the moving dome, and use pillars against sniper fire. Break reward gifts, then continue toward the Veil. |
| Beyond the Veil | The Witch | You cannot return after crossing, so repair and resupply at the Church first. Follow the single route to the Church beyond. Picking up the amulet starts the fight. Shoot clones, avoid yellow mines, jump shockwaves and lasers, and clear summoned sulfur creatures. Defeating the Witch unlocks Endless Mode. |
How do you get past the opening cave bridge?
You lower the raised bridge by shooting the fixture connected to its rope mechanism.
Leave the crashed car and follow the Witch into the cave. Collect the Wakizashi to break wooden obstacles and containers. Open the chest farther inside for your pistol, then shoot the bridge fixture. Cross to the amulet altar and charge your amulet. You can now return to the Church to organize supplies before another expedition.
What does the hidden toilet room do?
You can store items in hidden toilets, and their contents connect with other toilets.
In Caves, explosives break cracked walls that can conceal these rooms. You can find toilets before unlocking the Church toilet. Arthur sells that Church storage item for 18 Stamp; it appears beside the Caves entrance.
